Alder & Oak is a wood-fired Aegean and Mediterranean restaurant in Jacksonville's Brooklyn neighborhood, inside HUB Brooklyn at 400 Riverside Avenue. Every dish is cooked without seed oils — only Iliada extra virgin olive oil from Kalamata, Greece, and grass-fed beef tallow. The kitchen runs a Mibrasa coal-fired grill and Earthstone wood-fired oven: whole grilled fish, Galician octopus, meze, coal-fired steaks, and 24-hour cold-fermented pizza. Covered courtyard dining with Jacksonville skyline views. Zorbas rooftop bar upstairs — walk-in only, cocktails and Aegean small plates, open late Friday and Saturday.     Outstanding experience. Service was extraordinary & the food was fantastic. It’s a pricey night out but worth the splurge. There are menu options that allow for a nice dinner while not breaking the bank. A perfect choice for a special evening out on the town.

    We love Town Hall. This was our 5th visit. The food is fantastic, the service exceptional on every visit. Great wine selection and one of the best old fashions you will find. The bar area can be noisy so if you want conversation while dining, reserve a table in thecrear fining area.

    Alder and Oak offers a good variety of Mediterranean dishes. My husband ordered the Moussaka, and I had the Lamb Shank. Both were delicious. Our server couldn't have been more helpful. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
