We were celebrating with out of town family the night before our wedding, and picked Chico Malo because they could accommodate the size of our group. From the time we arrived at the restaurant until we left, it was a great experience. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service! We will definitely be returning!!

Absolutely fantastic! The menu has something for everyone - from teens to littles to sophisticated adult palettes. We always come away with everyone satisfied! The flavors are outstanding. We’ve never had a dish that was “too” this or “not enough that”. They’ve really perfected each dish on the menu. The tacos are a top favorite. The Arepa, I highly recommend. The empanadas and tostones are the perfect size and blend of flavors. And the salads are fresh and tasty. Portion size is remarkable - we took a trio of teens and they barely finished their loaded fries (another favorite dish) - the boys didn’t have appetizers either! I can order the Arepa and have leftovers for lunch or the tostones and eat just the perfect amount without feeling stuffed or wasteful. The ambiance is either quiet or just the right amount of lively conversation. You never feel interrupted by the table next to you, but you also see friendly faces and people genuinely enjoying friendship and this warm environment. Besides family outings, we like to stop for a cocktail before going to a baseball game or we’ll meet up with friends who are staying downtown. I’ve hosted small business gatherings and ladies get togethers. It really is a perfect spot with delicious food at an excellent value made with love by a couple who truly care about you and your experience.

Incredible as always, the rotating specials are always a surprise and delight. The best feature of this place is their command of the vegetable. The vegetable courses are a testament to their mastery of their ingredients. The service is also impeccable and the server is a master of hospitality expertly recommending pairing. Truly a gem in Phoenix and I make a point to visit whenever I’m in town!
