Proloco is an independent restaurant built for sharing on Great Ancoats Street in Ancoats, Manchester. Seasonal plates, 18-inch pizzas, wine and house-made ice cream bring people together around the table.     Pizza at its most elevated in terms of taste and quality. Everything spot on from the bite size panelle and silky smooth mackerel pate to the sublime pizzas with the ultimate crispy bottoms. We have 4 halves and whilst none disappointed the porchetta was everyone’s favourite. Great service, cheese ice cream - who knew that was a thing?! - and drinks. We have already booked to go back at Christmas.

    I always eat here before a performance at the nearby Palace Theatre. This is the best Italian restaurant in the City Centre and booking is essential to avoid disappointment. The welcome is genuine and you are made to feel that your visit is treasured. I pushed the boat out and went a-la carte. Starter: Caprese salata with avocado . Delicious! Main: Pasta especiale with Tiger prawns Norwegian shrimps and the most superb sauce I’ve ever tasted! Compliments were sent to the kitchen! I asked for Afogato to finish: this was truly a work of art! Ice cream, espresso coffee and a shot of Amaretto - bliss! Wine was Pino Grigio rosé and was perfect with this meal. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ E.H.
