Named after one of the first restaurants constructed in Hawai'i by Portuguese businessman, Peter Fernandez, Eating House 1849 pays homage to the popular casual eateries of the mid 19th century that incorporated a medley of flavors from the island's growing and diverse communities during the Plantation Era.Please call the restaurant to make reservations for parties of 5 or more. For parties of 5 or more we require credit card information to hold the reservation, and follow a 24-hour cancellation/no show policy; any cancellations within 24-hours of your reservation date, not the reservation time, or not showing up to a reservation at all, will result in a charge of $20 per person.     Living Foods is a great restaurant that served food sourced locally. We ate there twice on our trip and it was excellent both times. The food tastes fresh and all six of us had different things from the menu. We all agreed what we each had was really good. Outside seating, great atmosphere.

    Jonny was our server and he was kind and attentive! The food and drink was absolutely top notch! My husband had fish and I had the braised short ribs which were delicious. Because it was our anniversary we got a free dessert and we chose the flourless chocolate cake which was over the top yummy! The live entertainment was wonderful! The view out the window was incredible and we were mesmerized just watching the churning ocean!

    We had a pleasant experience at the restaurant when we were warmly greeted by hostess Evelyn who sat us earlier than our reservation time. She was patient and informative about the other dinner events there. The food was good with affordable prices. We enjoyed the open-air atmosphere, and the entertainment. We’ll be back!
