Blackfriars is located in a 13th century medieval friary where it once served as the refectory for the Dominican friars, making it one of the oldest purpose-built dining rooms in the UK.The restaurant serves a classic, gutsy British menu sourcing seasonal produce from local farms and markets accompanied by a large award-winning wine list. Dobson & Parnell offers elevated modern British dining on Newcastle Quayside.     We were a family party of 7, from toddler to 90 in ages. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel that our every need could be met. (And they were) The ambiance was lively but also calm and relaxed enough to enjoy talking and being together. The food was delicious - everyone was happy with their choice. (Impressed with kids menu) The service was excellent. It was raining heavily when we left and there was no signal to call a cab and the maitre d’hôtel called one for us. It was a very enjoyable family meal out. Would highly recommend going here.
