In our bar every cocktail tells a story so, we would like you to enjoy the drinks based on the stories of one of the biggest criminal gangs in English history.The 40 Elephants was an all-female organized crime collective active in London's Elephant and Castle District from at least 1873 right into the 1950. They specialized in shoplifting, with some blackmail and extortion thrown in to make them particularly badass.This gang was notable for its longevity and skill in avoiding police detection. Their most notorious leader, Diamond Annie, was known by the London police as "the cleverest of thieves".Forty Elephants funded a life of decadence in London roaring twenties, hanging about the glamorous hotels, bars and theaters they could only dream about before their turn to crime.Glamour was both a goal and a smoke screen for the Forty Elephants, through which they created their own thrilling world of fashion. money, and fame.

    A really lovely find. Quiet, atmsopheric and lovely drinks. We didn't eat- so I can't comment on that, but we had a lovely time and if we weren't rushing off to the theatre I would have happily strapped in here for the evening. Thank you.

    New look and feel… New food menu… still with the same amazing service. Had the perfect pre-show drinks and snacks last night and the food… wow Frog Chef’s Snacks Selection really was bringing the restaurant downstairs… with eel doughnuts, tartare and caviar aplenty… finished off with OG cheese. We all left well fed and extremely well looked after. Ahrelia Caviar… believe the hype, it’s really that good

    From the moment we came into the restaurant to the moment we left we were greeted with warmth and excellent customer service. I brought my 8 year old son and he was very impressed and he is not easily impressed by things. I want to thank our waiter for being nice and accommodating to us whilst we dined. We will definitely be back
