Just steps away from the historic Priory Church, The Priory Restaurant is a French inspired café & restaurant. Serving up delicious meals, cocktails, coffees & wine, The Priory prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere and an experience for guests that feels special every time. It's an intimate restaurant with a close-knit team, so you're likely to end up chatting with Will, the owner, or laughing and joking with local regulars. Signature dishes include a legendary roast dinner, steak frites in the evenings, and croque monsieur at lunch. Gold award winners at the Christchurch and BCP business awards!

    Enjoy a classic Sunday roast with all the trimmings at the cosiest spot in town! All served with fluffy Yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes, a variety of seasonal veg and rich gravy. We always have a few light bite/starter options, too, along with a sea food dish. Wash it all down with a glass of red and enjoy the ambience.

    After seeing a reasonable review score on OpenTable for this restaurant, I decided to book Sunday lunch but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience overall. The first thing I noticed on the way up the stairs was how dirty they were. They looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks but then I got to the upstairs room and it was even worse. There were bits everywhere in every part of the room. The carpets were all stained. It just looked gross and you can just tell this place needs a serious deep clean. There was lots of clutter in the upstairs room, like it was an afterthought rather than a dedicated place for people to sit and enjoy their food in a clean environment It is not enjoyable to be sitting in a restaurant that is clearly in need of a serious clean because it starts making you think about the kitchen… I had a roast dinner and it was awful. The chicken was all dried up. It almost crumbled in your mouth because the whole dish was boiling hot.,It had probably been under a hot plate for ages and it was covered in an almost black tasteless gravy. The Yorkshire pudding was also dried out. You'll never find me leaving any of my roast dinner but I certainly did with this one. For me clearly the chef, who's supposed to be someone special, have lost the passion for their food, as has the owner of this restaurant. Such a shame. It's in an amazing location and has so much potential.
