Our server recommended the El Jefe cocktail and it was absolutely spot on what I was looking for. The carnitas and pozole tacos were fabulous; perfectly moist and flavorful. The food and drinks were served promptly and with excellent service. The ambiance was pleasant. Not too loud, and even though we were sitting right next to the entrance to the kitchen, I never felt disrupted by the hustle.

This was our second time eating at this location. The first visit was on a Friday evening, and while the food was good, it was not great. Our second visit was on a Thursday afternoon, and unfortunately, the food was just okay. I ordered the enchiladas verdes both times, and they were good on each visit. My wife ordered the carne asada. The quality of the meat was good, but it had absolutely no salt and was extremely greasy for carne asada. The onions served with it were literally swimming in grease. We also ordered the same dessert both times: the churro sandwich with ice cream. The first time, the churro was soft and the ice cream held up well without melting too quickly. The second time, the churro was very hard and difficult to cut with a spoon—we had to use a knife. The ice cream was completely melted within about two minutes of arriving at our table. We always try to visit a restaurant twice to get a fair sense of the experience. Sadly, based on the inconsistency and our overall experience, we will not be returning.

We wanted to try this restaurant and went for my birthday dinner on a Sunday night. The food was good but overpriced. We ordered one beer and one margarita and two appetizers. Ate our apps and then ordered our food. Got our food but no drinks. The server forgot to put them in and blamed the bartender, when the table who was sat way after us had their drinks. Then avoided us all together with no apology. It was not busy. We won’t be going back.

The restaurant did not have the hype that I expected. Place was empty when we got there at 2:30 pm on a Sunday. Parking was hard to find.
