Situated in the heart of fashionable Kensington, on the doorstep of Hyde Park and in a lofty position on the tenth floor of the Royal Garden Hotel, Min Jiang boasts breathtaking views of Kensington Gardens and London’s skyline. The restaurant design combines striking blue and white Chinese vases against deep contemporary red walls, creating an unforgettable dining experience. The authentic and traditional approach to Asian cuisine has made the restaurant the home of Chinese fine dining for over 10 years, the highlight of any visit is the exquisite Dim Sum and the Legendary wood fired Beijing Duck. Min Jiang is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.

    We have been here twice before and food is always really good however, £15 for egg fried rice was a bit steep! There were a couple of young children running up and down the restaurant and the parents did very little to control them and seemed oblivious to them and the risk to the waiting staff. The service and staff are always pleasant and really nice and the views are lovely. I am not sure we will go back again just yet however, as not as good as we remember it.

    The food was so disappointing! The soup was of such poor quality that I wouldn’t have found it acceptable even if my nanny had made it at home. I left it untouched, yet none of the waiting staff asked why. The roast duck was terrible. It was ordinary roast duck rather than proper Peking duck. The skin wasn’t crispy and hadn’t separated from the meat, which made me suspect they hadn’t used air to separate the skin before roasting. The vegetables didn’t taste Cantonese-style to me either, and I could taste what seemed to be cooking wine in the sauce. Overall, the cooking made me question whether the chef had experience with Beijing or Hong Kong cuisine.
