Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef.     Adam our server was very knowledgeable over the menu and made amazing recommendations! He knew how to upsell your experience without being a pushy salesman. I’ve worked in the service industry for years and I can tell you without a doubt Adam will give you top tier service! 11/10! The food and cocktails were also amazing!

    We were a party of seven and with that group we were requested to enjoy our meal family style. that worked out great. It was a lovely fresh variety of tastes and flavors and a good time was had by all. This group of restaurants-MEC-were highly recommended by a colleague who had moved from New York to Portland two years ago. I am a native of the Seattle area and the other guests were from several parts of the US.

    Had another great experience at your establishment. The new host named Noah is absolutely amazing. Give him kudos. He is pleasant and nice and outgoing communicates very well. Our server was exceptional as always. Maybe not as personal as usual but very professional and kind. Our drinks and entrées and appetizers were amazing. Definitely will be back. I live in Pendleton, Oregon, and I always make it to Jake’s for dinner when I come to Portland.
