“Look Good. Eat Good.” are the words emblazoned on the front windows at the Beauty Shop. This hip and trendy restaurant in the Cooper-Young district of midtown Memphis does both, as it conjures up images of a ‘50s-style beauty shop, formerly Priscilla Presley’s curl-and-dye spot. It’s a camp wonderland where the façade is Jetsons-era Vitrolite, and choice seating is offered beneath hooded Belvedere hair dryers.Nostalgia is served with a sense of humor here. The beauty shop flashback comes complete with original mint green wash basins filling in as sinks behind the hand built bar, made of tiger maple wood. The terrazzo floor is original.     We enjoyed the calamari, crab cakes, and the shrimp and grits. All were excellent along with the service provided. Abe’s Place has a very nice wine list as well. Our opinion, Abe’s Place is the best restaurant in northeast Arkansas. We will be dining here again.

    Seriously, one of my all-time favorite restaurants ever! The lobster and crab Benedict is unbelievable. Stuffed flounder was one of our favorites. Also, the lava cake and the blueberry strudel were to die for. Also, the flight of salads is a must. I am a lifelong Fan.

    It was just dinner with my mother while she visited. Overall the experience was exactly what you expect in a chain restaurant but our server was somewhat distractable and slow.
