Inspired by yakitori izakayas, Big Night is going to be putting seasonal British-ish produce on sticks and cooking it on our charcoal grill. The food will be simple, loud and fun, perfect to be eaten with a beer in hand and friends at your side.The menu will draw on a variety of influences rather than pretending to adhere to the concept of an authentic cuisine (this is not a Japanese restaurant). With respect to traditions, we will be cooking with integrity and creativity with ingredients and flavours that we love and are passionate about, in a way that is innovative rather than traditional, and most importantly, tasty tasty delicious. We’re talking lamb hearts, smoked beetroots, pickled mussels, seasonal kimchis, miso banoffee.We want everyone to feel at home here, a place for people to come together, the tables will be communal, you'll be asking your neighbour to pass the chilli oil and cheersing the whole table with a round of shots and sauerkraut. We offer a specialist yakitori menu at dinner - skewers of free-range, slow-reared chicken over hot charcoal on our custom-made hibachi - as well as classic izakaya dishes, including miso black cod and tempura, accompanied by a curated selection of wines, Japanese sakes and whiskies. Our signature beak-to-tail menu features 17 Yakitori cuts. This set is available at dinner time and on weekdays only. It would require 2 working days' advance booking, and a 50% deposit. To book this set, please email info@hotori.co.uk or leave us a message on OpenTable.Please note we have a different menus for lunch and dinner. Last orders is 9pm for dinner services. We do everything we can to manage the smoke from our hibachi. At busy times, the restaurant can occasionally get smoky. If that is a problem, please let your server know so they can move your table and put your items in the cloakroom.

    Really enjoyed the bottomless brunch! Our only issue was that there weren't enough veggie options and more meat options on the menu. For the vegan menu, there has to be a minimum of 2 people eating so where there were 3 meat eaters and myself as a pescatarian/veggie, I found not as many options. Justin the GM was very accommodating and took our feedback well and was kind to swap 1 of the meat starters for a fish option. He was very attentive and his staff were great too. Lovely food, we were at the back of the restaurant so we felt a little out of the way and not 'mingling' with others, but our group of 4 enjoyed ourselves nevertheless. We will happily return to another bottomless in the future as the food was delicious 😋

    Very good overall experience however eventhough mentioned on the booking no notice of our anniversary had been taken. Little let down for a otherwise overall great experience.
