Had a lovely experience at Gavroche in Chippendale. Started with the French onion soup, which was rich, full of flavour and everything a good onion soup should be. The potato millefeuille was beautifully done, and the fish of the day was equally impressive. But the real highlight was the crème brûlée. Absolutely amazing! Perfectly caramelised on top, with a beautiful silky custard underneath. Easily one of the best I've had in a long time. There's something I really appreciate about classic French cooking when it's done well. Nothing overly complicated, just beautiful food prepared with care. Really enjoyed the evening and will definitely be back!

Easy parking and a brilliant, cool atmosphere with cleverly curated wine list. The food was excellent across the board, with the tuna steak sauce Diane being a standout. Don't miss the fries (incredible!). Worth going out of your way for!

We had dinner at Chez Crix last Friday night. The food was great, and the service, while hardly polished, was friendly with a real desire to please. There was a small issue in the kitchen, with our main courses delayed. It was of no concern to us, but the Manager was incredibly apologetic, and "comp"d" our drinks without telling us! Probably not ideal if you are looking for a quiet place for a romantic chat, but I would happily revist....in fact I am sure I will!
