★★★★★ A truly special village pub! Although it had been a little while since our last visit, we were welcomed back like old friends. Everyone was so warm and friendly, and it was lovely that they remembered us. We were given a wonderful table near the open fire, which, on a wet and windy day, made the whole experience feel wonderfully cosy and inviting. The starters were gorgeous, and the seasonal specials were exceptional. There’s so much thought and care put into the menu. Everything is beautifully prepared, using fresh, seasonal ingredients, and served piping hot! And the desserts? Simply sublime. Absolutely delicious and worth saving room for! The Cat Inn isn’t just another country pub. It’s a glorious restaurant tucked inside a charming, historic village inn, combining exceptional food with genuine warmth and hospitality. A real gem, and somewhere we’re always delighted to return to.

A wonderful experience of afternoon tea which, having been to many places, cannot be beaten. The ambience, staff, food, all come together as a unique and marvellous mind blowing time! Not cheap, but definitely get you pay for...!

Lovely setting and decor. Attentive service. Very tasty Sunday roast and great selection of drinks. Cosy and colourful interior on a grey and wet autumn day but equally with its South Downs location, can imagine beautiful to sit outside.

The Sunday lunch 3 course meal we had was excellent. The portion sizes were perfect, the food was presented beautifully and everything was delicious. We would definitely recommend the restaurant to others and we hope to return.

As always the food was superb. This is my favourite restaurant. So great to have a fine dining restaurant close by
