Chicago Chop House, established in November 1986 by Henry Norton, is a renowned steakhouse in Chicago. Norton, a successful restauranteur, had previously launched several successful establishments. The brownstone building marked his first venture into Chicago's steakhouse scene. Norton enlisted Bill Farrahi, a former chef at Café Bohemia and a partner at Shuckers, to create the menu. Inspired by Café Bohemia, they introduced the 64-ounce and 48-ounce porterhouse, which became a legend. In 2017, Chop Hospitality LLC acquired the business, renovating the building and updating the menu serving only USDA Prime steaks and chops. The walls showcase over 1,400 historic photos of sports, entertainment, political figures, and every mayor. The beautiful Courtyard offers a perfect setting for a moonlit dinner. Chicago Chop House combines a memorable dining experience with a rich history, making it a beloved original steakhouse in Chicago.
